M.P Shah Hospital is seeking a professional and evidence-driven Family Medicine Physician to join the Accident & Emergency (A&E) and Out-Patient Department. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Department (HoD) for A&E and Out-Patient and will provide comprehensive medical care with a focus on overall health, wellness, and preventive care.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, treat, and manage a variety of medical conditions, offering preventive care such as regular check-ups, screenings, immunizations, and health education.
Develop and manage long-term care plans for chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases.
Perform minor surgical procedures when necessary and refer patients to specialists as needed.
Provide health counseling on lifestyle management, nutrition, exercise, and mental health.
Apply evidence-based practices for diagnosing and managing common medical conditions, staying updated with the latest medical advancements.
Administer and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures.
Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Work with the clinic’s medical team to enhance patient care quality and satisfaction, maintaining accurate patient records using electronic health systems.
Participate in team meetings focused on improving patient care and clinic operations.
Complete documentation efficiently and in a timely manner.
Educate patients and families about health conditions, medications, lifestyle choices, and guide them in making informed decisions regarding their care.
Qualifications
MMed in Family Medicine or equivalent from a recognized university in Kenya or abroad.
Bachelor of Medicine or Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB or MBBS) from a recognized university.
Registration and current practicing license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
