The Cybersecurity Specialist, Identity & Access Management (IAM), will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management of the Bank’s IAM strategy and architecture. The role focuses on ensuring secure identity, authentication, and access governance across users, systems, and applications within the Group. This position is based in Kenya under KCB Group.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of the Bank’s IAM strategy, architecture, and Zero Trust principles for identity and access management for all users (internal, external, and customers).
Architect and oversee the implementation of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Single Sign-On (SSO), federation, and passwordless authentication across the Group.
Design and support the implementation of solutions for the Bank’s Privileged Access Management (PAM) program in line with policy and the principle of least privilege.
Collaborate with business, compliance, and audit stakeholders to align IAM practices with regulatory and operational requirements.
Design and enforce Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) models, ensuring segregation of duties and secure privilege access management from project inception to implementation.
Assess and enhance IAM policies, standards, and procedures to ensure alignment with best practices.
Define and maintain identity lifecycle management processes, covering joiner, mover, and leaver scenarios, with automated provisioning and de-provisioning.
Provide input into technology security risk assessments leveraging specialized knowledge in identity and privileged access management.
Conduct research on emerging IAM and PAM technologies and share knowledge across the Group’s technology teams.
Lead staff and vendor training and awareness programs to enhance identity security and hygiene.
Daily Responsibilities
Lead the development and continuous improvement of IAM strategy and architecture.
Align IAM initiatives with business objectives, compliance, and audit requirements.
Design scalable, secure, and user-friendly IAM systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system integration and adoption.
Monitor IAM maturity levels and drive ongoing process optimization.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Professional certification in at least one of the following: CISA, CISM, CISSP, Security+, CCSP, or IAM certification from Microsoft, Oracle, Okta, Azure, AWS, or Google.
Master’s degree (MBA/MSc) is an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in the technology field.
At least three (3) years of experience in Information Security.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM).
At least one (1) year of experience in banking operations.
At least one (1) year of experience in project implementation and user training.
A minimum of three (3) years in a large, fast-paced technology environment.
