Terms of Reference
Provision of radiological services through procedures and policy approved. Qualifications: 1. A degree /diploma in Radiography from a recognized training institution. 2. A higher national diploma in Ultrasound. 3. Valid membership in a professional society. 4. Up-to-date practicing license from KNRA. 5. Minimum 2 years working experience. 6. Experience in a level 5 or 6 Hospital or Mission Hospital will be preferred. 7. Excellent knowledge in RIS/PACS systems. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Participate in assessing patients and their clinical requirements to determine appropriate imaging techniques. 2. Receive and prepare patients for radiology procedures. 3. Communicate to the customer on radiography procedures. 4. Carry out radiological investigation as per approved policies and procedures. 5. Sort out images and forwarding them to the radiologist for reporting. 6. Participate in assisting in more complex radiological/ sonographic procedures. 7. Provide support and reassurance to patients, taking into account their physical and psychological needs. 8. Recording imaging identification and patient documentation quickly and accurately and observing protocols to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act and patient confidentiality. 9. Participate in supervising assistant practitioners, students and other staff, and delivering appropriate education and training. 10. Observe health and safety at work and welfare issues, including ionizing radiation regulations, to protect yourself and others. 11. Participate in ensuring that equipment is regularly checked for malfunctions and any faults are reported. 12. Participate in protection of patients and staff from radiation hazards during radiology procedures. 13. Participate in carrying out radiography procedures as per approved policies and procedures. 14. Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
