    Terms of Reference

    The Florence Bamidele Makanjuola Scholarship for Women (FBMSYW), an initiative of the Opekete Foundation, was established in memory of its founder, the late Mrs. Florence Bamidele Makanjuola (FBM). It is available to young women in secondary and tertiary institutions who intend to or are currently studying Nursing or Teaching in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. The scholarship reflects FBM's passion for education and women's economic empowerment, believing it to be key to leading productive and independent lives. Aimed at young women facing extreme financial hardship, FBMSYW provides more than financial assistance—it promotes a holistic education by instilling values of discipline, hard work, service, and professional excellence, with additional support through mentoring, community projects, and work placements. If you or your child/ward are committed to pursuing Nursing or Teaching and developing the personal qualities needed for success, you are encouraged to apply.
