The Laikipia County Public Service Board invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Occupational Therapist III (Job Grade CPSB 11). This is an entry and training position offered on permanent and pensionable terms.

Position Details

Position: Assistant Occupational Therapist III (Job Grade CPSB 11).
Number of Vacancies: Six (6).
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable.
Salary: Ksh. 28,620 x 1,110 - 29,730 x 1,120 - 30,850 x 1,150 - 32,000 x 1,170 - 33,170 x 1,120 - 34,420 x 1,300 - 35,720 x 1,380 - 37,100 per month.

Key Responsibilities

Assess patients and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Maintain records and data relating to patients.
Maintain an up to date database for occupational therapy services for input into the integrated health information system.
Provide holistic preventive, promotive, rehabilitative and palliative care using occupational therapy processes.
Offer services in physical disabilities, paediatrics, sensory integration, mental health, geriatrics, ergonomics, home based care and school health.
Conduct specialized assessments including driver assessment, speech facilitation, hand therapy and neuro developmental therapy.
Carry out educational, functional and vocational assessments and formulate interventions.
Sensitize the community on occupational therapy issues.
Advocate and promote health education in disability related matters.
Prepare periodic reports.

Qualifications

Diploma in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution.
