Laikipia Wildlife Forum (LWF) is inviting applications for the position of Membership and Communications Intern. The intern will support the day-to-day work of the communications department through membership engagement, social media, content development, events support and general communications activities.

Position Details

Position: Membership and Communications Intern.
Employer: Laikipia Wildlife Forum (LWF).

Location: Nanyuki, Kenya.
Duration: 6 (Six) months, with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities

Draft and schedule posts for LWF's social media platforms.
Take photographs and short videos at events, field days and member activities, and help keep the media library organized.
Help draft and format content for the newsletter, website and member updates.
Support the collection of member stories and updates for use across LWF's communication channels.
Help keep membership records accurate and up to date, and assist with routine member correspondence and enquiries.
Provide communications and logistical support during LWF events, meetings and field days.
Assist with proofreading and basic layout of communications materials before they are shared.
Provide general support to the communications department and carry out any other reasonable duties assigned.

Qualifications

Background or qualification in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field.
Good written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
Comfortable using social media platforms and creating simple content.
Basic skills in photography, design or video editing tools such as Canva are an added advantage.
Well organized, reliable and eager to learn.
A genuine interest in conservation, community and natural resource management.
