The Kenya Trade Network Agency (KenTrade) is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Network Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing the organization's network infrastructure while providing technical guidance on network configurations and installations.

Position Details

Position: Network Engineer.
Job Grade: KTNA 7.
Number of Posts: 1.
Employer: Kenya Trade Network Agency (KenTrade).
Reports to: Assistant Manager IT, Infrastructure and Service Management.
Duty Station: Nairobi.

Key Responsibilities

Design, configure, and maintain complex switching environments and secure wireless networks that support voice and video applications.
Configure Cisco firewalls, VPN concentrators, and security appliances for mission critical applications.
Maintain network security through proper VPN and firewall configuration.
Set up and maintain local area networks including switches, structured cabling, and power provisioning.
Assist in designing multi server environments including IP addressing schemes, DNS, and WINS.
Provide technical support to internal staff, vendors, and partner agencies.
Maintain wired and wireless networks to ensure performance, security, throughput, and timely upgrades.
Implement network upgrades by developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.
Maintain enterprise hardware including servers, storage devices, switches, routers, and UPS units.
Troubleshoot network hardware, software applications, IP phones, and security systems to restore services.
Support internal networks, disaster recovery links, integration points, internet connectivity, and data lines.
Ensure infrastructure changes are implemented with minimal disruption to ICT services.
Monitor infrastructure assets and ensure organizational infrastructure and data remain secure.
Ensure technology is managed in accordance with KenTrade standards, policies, and procedures.
Perform any other duties assigned that are consistent with the level of responsibility of the role.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in ICT, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Professional certification in CCNA, CCNP, CCVP, or VOIP.
Knowledge of VOIP implementation and support.
Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
