The State Department for Correctional Services is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Artisan III. This is the entry grade for this cadre, where successful candidates will undergo on the job training and perform repair and maintenance duties under the supervision of a more experienced officer.

Salary Range: Ksh. 21,120 to Ksh. 26,250 per month.
Annual Leave Allowance: Ksh. 6,500 per annum.
Commuter Allowance: Ksh. 3,000 per month.
Leave Entitlement: 30 days per annum.
House Allowance: Ksh. 2,960 to Ksh. 4,500 per month, depending on the region of deployment.
Medical Cover: As provided by the government.

Key Responsibilities

Perform repair and maintenance works under close supervision of a more experienced officer.
Carry out assigned simple duties in line with the area of specialization, including Carpentry, Masonry, Welding, Painting, and Plumbing.

Qualifications

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D (Plain) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Government Trade Test Certificate Grade III in the relevant trade area including Carpentry, Masonry, Welding, Painting, and Plumbing from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
