MP Shah Hospital is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Maintenance Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and monitoring building, utilities, and infrastructure maintenance activities within the hospital to ensure a safe, reliable, and compliant healthcare environment.
Position: Maintenance Supervisor.

Plan, assign, supervise, and evaluate daily maintenance activities.
Ensure timely completion of preventive and corrective maintenance work.
Monitor maintenance requests and ensure agreed response times are achieved.
Coordinate emergency maintenance activities to minimize service interruptions.
Conduct routine inspections of hospital buildings and infrastructure.
Oversee maintenance and performance of electrical distribution systems, backup generators, solar systems, UPS systems, water supply systems, boreholes, water treatment systems, hot water systems, boilers, medical air compressors, vacuum systems, medical gas infrastructure, HVAC systems, ventilation systems, fire detection and suppression systems, lifts and elevators, sewage and drainage systems, and other maintenance systems.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and ensure maintenance activities are completed according to established plans.
Maintain maintenance records and history, identify recurring failures, and implement corrective actions.
Recommend equipment replacement based on lifecycle assessments.
Supervise maintenance technicians and artisans and allocate work based on priorities and staff competencies.
Conduct toolbox meetings, monitor productivity and quality of work, identify training needs, and mentor junior staff.
Participate in recruitment and performance appraisals.
Coordinate outsourced maintenance services and verify the quality of contractor work.
Ensure contractors comply with hospital safety policies.
Review contractor service reports and verify completed work before certification for payment.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act, fire safety regulations, environmental regulations, energy management requirements, Infection Prevention and Control requirements, hospital engineering policies, and JCIA facility management standards.
Participate in safety inspections, risk assessments, emergency preparedness activities, and incident investigations.
Support renovation and infrastructure projects and monitor contractor progress.
Participate in inhouse project planning meetings and ensure engineering standards are maintained during projects.
Participate in commissioning and handover of completed works.
Monitor maintenance tools and equipment and manage spare parts inventory.
Recommend procurement of maintenance materials, monitor stock levels, prevent shortages, and ensure proper storage of maintenance materials.
Maintain accurate records including preventive maintenance schedules, work orders, maintenance logs, utility consumption records, contractor reports, inspection reports, incident reports, equipment history, and compliance records.
Assist in preparing annual maintenance budgets and monitor expenditure against approved budgets.
Recommend cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities for energy efficiency and resource optimization.

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum of 6 years experience in maintenance operations.
At least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is highly desirable.
Experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary maintenance teams.
Membership in relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.
