The Anti-Female Genital Mutilation Board is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Accountant. The successful candidate will support the finance function by maintaining accounting records, processing payments, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with established financial procedures and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain primary accounting records including cashbooks and ledgers.
Prepare payment vouchers, committal documents, and bank transfer instructions.
Post vouchers, receipts, and payment transactions into the cashbook.
Prepare statutory returns, trial balances, cash flow forecasts, and simple management reports.
Verify payment authorizations in line with the Board's approval limits.
Reconcile supplier statements and maintain accurate financial records.
Manage petty cash transactions and ensure proper filing of accountable documents.
Issue cheques and maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with financial procedures.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Commerce with Accounting or Finance option, Business Administration with Accounting option, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Passed Part II of the Certified Public Accountants Examination or its equivalent.
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
Strong analytical and accuracy skills.
Good interpersonal and record management skills.
