SBM Bank Kenya is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Supervisor, Credit Collections. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of delinquent loan, overdraft, and credit card accounts while implementing effective collection strategies to minimize credit losses and support the Bank's profitability objectives.

Position Details

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and manage an allocated portfolio of delinquent loans, overdrafts, and credit card facilities between 1 and 90 days past due.
Follow up with customers to recover outstanding arrears using approved collection strategies and sound credit judgment.
Negotiate repayment arrangements with customers and ensure timely follow up of agreed actions.
Identify and escalate complex collection cases requiring alternative recovery actions or management approval.
Work closely with business teams and stakeholders to provide suitable recovery solutions for customers.
Maintain accurate records of collection activities and update the Debt Collection and Collateral Management System.
Respond to customer inquiries and complaints while maintaining high standards of customer service.
Ensure compliance with Bank policies, regulatory requirements, and customer protection standards.

Qualifications

University degree in a business related field from a recognized institution.
At least one year of experience in a debt recovery or credit collections role.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Good interpersonal and influencing skills.
Proficiency in spreadsheets and database applications.
Strong planning, organization, and problem solving skills.
Commitment to operational excellence, service excellence, and effective customer handling.
