The ARIN Internship Program – 2026 is a Pan-African talent development initiative designed to nurture young professionals in research, innovation, and policy across Africa. The program provides hands-on experience, structured mentorship, and exposure to real-world projects in climate change, biodiversity, health, data science, AI for resilience, and community-based development. It serves as a launchpad for emerging African researchers and leaders committed to driving evidence-informed and sustainable development on the continent.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct literature reviews, data analysis, and evidence synthesis across ARIN research projects.
Support fieldwork activities, community engagements, and stakeholder consultations.
Participate in technical mentorship sessions, peer learning forums, and capacity-building activities.
Collaborate in drafting reports, policy briefs, research papers, and presentations.
Attend weekly meetings, workshops, and networking events as part of professional development.
Support project teams in both short-term and long-term assignments as allocated.
Perform any other duties assigned in support of ARIN’s mission and research work.
Qualifications
Master’s degree or a strong Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Climate Change, Natural Resources, Economics, Data Science, Development Studies, or related fields.
Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.
High level of attention to detail and commitment to learning.
Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and passion for research and sustainable development.
Key Competencies
Strong research, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within diverse teams.
Effective communication and presentation skills.
Strong organizational, project management, and multitasking skills.
Commitment to addressing Africa’s climate, environmental, and development challenges.
