The Medical Specialist I – Dermatology will provide specialized dermatological care within Nakuru County’s Department of Health Services. The role involves advanced clinical duties, leadership in medical services, participation in training and research, and ensuring high standards of patient care in a large health institution.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct general diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients.
Provide specialized dermatology clinical care and patient management.
Offer psychosocial interventions and clinical services.
Train, consult, and perform clinical procedures/surgeries in county facilities.
Deliver forensic and medico-legal services when required.
Coordinate health education and health promotion activities.
Implement health programmes and projects within the county.
Maintain updated health information systems and monitor healthcare services.
Undertake medical research and analyze medical reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from a recognized institution.
Master of Medicine in Dermatology recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board (MPDB).
Registration, valid practicing license, and specialist recognition from MPDB.
Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme (minimum 6 weeks).
Certificate in Computer Applications.
Demonstrated professional competence and administrative capability in managing health services.
