Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu, part of the Aga Khan Health Service, Kenya, is a leading institution within the Aga Khan Development Network. Position: Radiology Quality and Safety Officer
Reporting To: Radiology Manager
Role Overview
The Radiology Quality and Safety Officer will lead the development and implementation of radiology quality assurance and patient safety programs. The role ensures compliance with radiation safety guidelines, conducts audits and investigations, supports accreditation efforts, and fosters a culture of safety within the radiology department.
Key Responsibilities
Lead quality and patient safety initiatives in radiology.
Monitor and review imaging processes and reports for compliance and accuracy.
Conduct regular safety audits and root cause analyses.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to enhance safety culture.
Track and report quality and safety performance metrics.
Support regulatory inspections and accreditation processes.
Coordinate staff training and competency assessments.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and radiation safety.
Address quality and safety gaps with corrective actions.
Qualifications
Higher National Diploma in Ultrasonography or Radiotherapy, plus a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Imaging Sciences or Radiography.
Minimum 5 years' experience in radiography with a focus on quality management and radiation safety.
Registration and licensing by the Kenya Nuclear Radiological Authority.
Membership in a professional body, preferably SORK.
Strong attention to detail, excellent record-keeping, and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
