The Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from start to finish. This role ensures that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards while effectively managing multiple teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and deliverables to guide construction execution.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to create and maintain achievable construction schedules.
Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets to ensure cost control and adherence to financial targets.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
Oversee and supervise on-site construction teams to ensure work aligns with plans and specifications.
Provide leadership and direction to site supervisors, contractors, and labor teams.
Identify and assess potential project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards through regular site inspections and safety audits.
Maintain high-quality construction standards and verify that all work meets company and regulatory requirements.
Review and validate architectural plans, blueprints, and specifications for accuracy and feasibility.
Serve as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular project updates and resolving issues.
Facilitate clear communication between clients, subcontractors, architects, and engineers.
Obtain all required permits, licenses, and inspections, ensuring compliance with local building regulations.
Proactively address on-site challenges such as delays, weather disruptions, or scope changes to minimize project impact.
Oversee project closeout activities, including punch lists, final inspections, and documentation.
Prepare post-project reports highlighting achievements, lessons learned, and recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
3–5 years of experience in managing construction projects with a proven record of timely and budget-compliant completion.
Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., MS Project or ERP systems).
Strong understanding of building codes, safety standards, and construction laws.
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in supervising contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
