Role Overview
Inua AI is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Intern to support the Client Finance Services Division. The role involves maintaining financial data accuracy, assisting in the closing process, managing general ledger activities, and streamlining accounting workflows. A minimum of one (1) year of prior accounting or bookkeeping experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
Process invoices, bills, and manage accounts payable and receivable.
Perform monthly reconciliations (e.g., bank and credit card) and assist with closing activities.
Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist in financial statement preparation.
Maintain balance sheet accounts and assist with year-end closing activities.
Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Assist with internal financial controls and process improvements.
Work with tools like QuickBooks Online Accountant, ERP systems, and advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
Perform additional accounting and administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (e.g., CPA(K) or ACCA).
Minimum of 1 year of practical accounting or bookkeeping experience.
Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles (accruals, ledgers, reconciliations), exposure to U.S. GAAP is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, v-lookups, data analysis).
Experience with QuickBooks Online Accountant required; familiarity with ERP/accounting systems is a plus.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Highly detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and manage multiple deliverables.
Ability to adapt quickly, learn continuously, and take ownership of responsibilities.
Experience in a startup environment and exposure to multi-currency or international accounting is a plus.
