Tenwek Hospital, a 419-bed Christian teaching and referral hospital in Bomet County, seeks a ministry-minded, spiritually mature, born-again Christian Barista. The role involves preparing and serving high-quality beverages while upholding exceptional customer service, hygiene standards, and hospital policies.
Key Responsibilities
Beverage Preparation and Service
Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages including coffee, tea, juices, and smoothies.
Customize beverages based on customer preferences, dietary needs, or medical guidance.
Ensure consistent quality, efficiency, and professional presentation.
Customer Service
Provide warm, courteous, and professional service to staff, patients, and visitors.
Address customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly.
Support special beverage orders for meetings, events, and conferences.
Operations and Hygiene
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station, tools, and equipment.
Follow strict food safety, hygiene, and infection control procedures.
Monitor stock levels, request replenishments, and ensure proper storage and rotation of supplies.
Teamwork and Flexibility
Work collaboratively with the catering team and other departments.
Assist with additional catering tasks as needed.
Support internal and external events hosted by CTC Tenwek Hospital.
Qualifications and Skills
Certificate or Diploma in Food and Beverage Service or Hospitality.
Barista certification.
Experience working as a Barista in a busy environment.
Knowledge of coffee brewing methods and modern beverage techniques.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and sensitive hospital environment.
Basic food safety, hygiene, and infection control knowledge.
Flexibility to work varied shifts and support special events.
