The Collaborative Centre for Gender and Development (CCGD) is inviting applications from qualified and passionate candidates to fill the following positions at a Child Care Centre located in City Park, Parklands, Nairobi County.
1. CHILDCARE ADMINISTRATOR
Reports To: Program Coordinator, Child Protection and Care
Key Responsibilities
Allocate duties and supervise childcare staff.
Conduct regular staff performance appraisals.
Manage financial records and reporting.
Oversee meal preparation and ensure nutritional standards.
Develop daily schedules and age-appropriate activities for children.
Maintain records of children’s progress and incidents.
Serve as the primary contact with parents and guardians.
Prepare progress and financial reports for resource partners.
Ensure hygiene standards and clean play areas.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma or Certificate in Early Childhood Education (ECDE) or related field.
5+ years' experience in childcare, with at least 2 years in an administrative/supervisory role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management tools.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience in implementing child protection policies and working with children aged 0–4 years.
Understanding of nutrition, hygiene, and early childhood development.
2. CAREGIVERS (4 POSITIONS)
Reports To: Childcare Administrator
Key Responsibilities
Provide nurturing care to children while their parents are at work.
Supervise children during play and coordinate age-appropriate activities.
Report unusual behavior or incidents to the Program Officer or parents.
Ensure children have necessary supplies and perform any additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
Certificate in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
3–5 years of hands-on experience in a childcare setting or similar environment.
Sound knowledge of early childhood development principles.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
High levels of patience, empathy, and a child-focused approach.
Team player with a high degree of integrity and professionalism.
3. COOK
Reports To: Childcare Administrator
Key Responsibilities
Plan and prepare nutritious meals in consultation with the Administrator.
Maintain hygiene standards in food preparation and kitchen areas.
Monitor kitchen inventory and re-order supplies as needed.
Ensure timely serving of meals and proper food storage.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
High school diploma required; culinary training is an added advantage.
1–2 years' experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in institutional settings.
Knowledge of child nutrition, food safety, and sanitation practices.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a team environment.
4. CLEANER
Reports To: Childcare Administrator
Key Responsibilities
Clean and disinfect surfaces, furniture, and restrooms.
Maintain hygiene in food preparation areas.
Dispose of waste appropriately and manage cleaning supplies inventory.
Ensure the cleanliness of all areas used by children and staff.
Perform any other cleaning duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
High school certificate (KCSE).
At least 1–2 years of experience in a cleaning role.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced childcare environment.
