The ICT Officer is responsible for overseeing the ICT Department and ensuring the effective management of the Sacco’s information technology systems and infrastructure. This role plays a key part in aligning ICT strategies and policies with the organization's goals, ensuring system integrity, and promoting innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the operations of the ICT Department and provide timely ICT services across all organizational functions.
Develop and implement ICT strategies, while fostering innovation and efficiency through technology.
Administer and maintain the organization's databases, ensuring optimal performance and data security.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain all ICT systems, including hardware and software components.
Ensure regulatory compliance and advise management on ICT resource optimization.
Generate ICT-related reports and offer guidance on hardware and software procurement.
Manage the local and wide area networks (LAN & WAN), ensuring seamless connectivity and system availability.
Implement data backup protocols and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
Control system access by managing user rights and ensuring data protection measures are in place.
Report system failures promptly and coordinate with vendors for swift resolution.
Participate in the formulation and execution of ICT policies.
Maintain the Sacco's website and ensure continuous improvement and accessibility.
Keep abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in the ICT sector.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related ICT field.
Professional certifications such as CISM, CISA, or equivalent.
Membership in an ICT professional body (an added advantage).
At least four (4) years of experience in a similar role.
Strong understanding of networking technologies, routing, switching, firewalls, and enterprise systems.

Ability to handle high-pressure situations and collaborate across departments.
Excellent time management and communication skills.
Customer-oriented with strong interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in business applications, infrastructure, data architecture, and incident management.
